another thought came to me after my first reply to Jakome. if your going to get into larping, pick a larp thats good for you. if your physical i suggest larping like i do with in your face combat and common sence rules. their harder to find so get some friends together and kick some ass.
now if your more fragile like some of my other friends i suggest a more hitpoint, structured rule system larp, like Nero. i hate Nero personally but they do a fair job of getting people together and having fun

it depends on the larp. larp stands for life action role play and it can be anything from warcraft to D&D and more. alot of larps have alot of complex rules as far as combat goes like how many hitpoints you have, how much damage a waepon does, ect ect, blah blah.
in my opinion the best larps are the common sence ruled ones. example, you get hit in the head with a sword, you die. simple. magic lights you on fire, you are now a burn victum. grats
its alot of fun, its very physical, and awsome
