I mean really….Warcraft IV wouldnt have told the story this way… WoW is soooo black & white, in the end the “good guys” always win, naturally because Blizzard can’t let the WoW players loose. That just shows how limited WoW is with the storytelling and why Warcraft IV should tell what REALLY happened, be it more or less the same storyline as with WoW or more or less alternative storyline alltogether. But what WoW has done to the storyline, characters and lore is totally disgrace in my opinion

@Limrasson Well still it would be totally lame for all those Warcraft RTS fans, who dont have time to or just dont like to play WoW, if Warcraft IV would continue the storyline from WoW instead from WC III: The Frozen Throne….if that would happen the storyline would be totally confusing, lame, raped and fucked up, I dont even see how Blizzard could create anykind of great storyline of all these villains would be dead. So they really should either rewrite or retell the storline of WoW in WC IV

…would allow some pathetic group of 5 players to kill Sargeras himself before WoW is over….well if that happens, then Blizzard couldnt even possibly consider taking the events of WoW as part of the REAL storyline and lore…and look what they did to Lich King character too. They just throw away Arthas,we could say the most important and best character of Warcraft universe, and replaced him with Bolvar,so that way they cheaply get new raidboss when they start running out of characters to kill

@Balnazzardi World of Warcraft, Warcraft comics and books are part of the official lore. I play WoW from pretty much the start and I like to complete quests and kill bosses for the story alone. I must say that I have at least one idea how Blizzard could turn the mass slaughter of cool and “beloved” heroes and mostly villians into an epic part of warcraft story. (Hint: It has a lot of do with the Old Gods).
So I have to agree with you on some level, but not entirely.

why havent they translated it?:P

@archimondewarlock Right you are, 2 totally different game genres…and that’s EXACTLY why the storyline of Warcraft IV should be created so like WoW had never happened, it’s going to be the true continuation and sequel to Warcraft III, WoW is just playground where Blizzard allows players to fight, rape and kill the most powerfull characters of Warcraft universe.

I LOVE YOU ARCHIMONDE!
Warcraft III is differnt from wow so stop comparing and asking question why they so different

Everyone who has played both Warcraft III and WoW knows that Warcraft IV could tell the storyline in so much better, deeper and detailed way than WoW ever could. There are just so many limitations in WoW, what Blizzard can/cant do with storyline and what they “have to do”, like put all these great characters as raidbosses. I mean look what WoW is doing….Kel’thuzad, Kael’thas, Illidan, Arthas, soon Deathwing, propably Sylvanas too…and who will be after them? I wouldnt be suprised if Blizzard

@impaler009 There will be, im quite sure of that.WoW will not last forever, it will end when the level cap reaches 100 and this Blizzard’s entirely new MMO is going to “replace” it when the time comes. But will the storyline continue from Warcraft III: Frozen Throne (as it should!) or will it continue the lore raping events of WoW is another question entirely…i hope for the best, but honestly I fear the worst =(

@Balnazzardi words of a wise man. Preach on, fellow warrior… Sincerely, I’m still shaking in doubt as to whether there will ever be a WC4. O_O
October 3, 2010
@Limrasson Well considering that Warcraft IV’s campaings would be as long as Starcraft II’s campaings (and released and sold seperately) Warcraft IV could easily retell the events of WoW as well as all what you just said….ofcourse it depends how many campaings there will be, but let’s say 4 like in WC III and Starcraft II campaings are about 30 missions long, so that would make 100-120 missions. So I stand by my words and say that Warcraft IV simply HAS to continue from Frozen Throne.

@Balnazzardi Note that the main villians (Old Gods) are eternal and four dimensional beings. What I meant in my previous comment, that it could turn out that pretty much everything was set up by the Old Gods. and their plan would end in a cataclysmic and epic battle against the Titans, where the so called “heroes” could prove that they aren’t just the puppets in the Old Gods plans, ending the story of WoW and enabling the story of WarCraft IV. And yes a book or a non MMO can tell stories better.
