blizzard seams to be for getting ppls roll. since when the fuck does a hoyl pally need to silence + dmg you + heal him self holy is supposed to ONLY heal others and him self and hope a dps comes to bail his ass out of trouble. i remember when we needed rogues/shammy/war in pve for silence but now tanks…Sad.

worldofwarcraft.tgn.tv — Another follow-up to the Retribution Paladin DPS rundown episodes! This test is done on the PTRs with a 359 epic premade. Ret pallies have some very exciting changes! The lackluster mastery Hand of Light has been completely reworked. Now, certain abilities (namely, TV, CS, DS) proc extra holy damage on every use. The Hand of Light proc is improved further by Inquisition. You can expect each HoL proc to hit for about 50% of the CS/TV damage, plus or minus a bit depending on your mastery. The old HoL functionality has been rolled into Divine Purpose. Now, Divine Purpose gives a list of your abilities a 15% chance to proc a free, 3HP finisher of your choice. The old version of Divine Purpose (40% chance to proc some extra HP) is gone. Lastly, Crusader Strike is buffed from 115% to 135% of weapon damage. However, this change is not reflected on the server just yet, so we have to do some maths to figure out the “real” damage. 135% is 175% after talents which is 17% better than the old figure (149% after talents). If you assume HoL procs for roughly half of CS, that means it’s a 25% buff to HoL/CS combined. These two abilities make up roughly 30% of your total dps. Thus, we can conclude that the CS buff, once it is in place, will give you a 7.5% total increase in dps compared to the test results here. That bumps the results from 13.3k DPS to 14.3k DPS.

A tip for a more consistent timing on your dps test, use the in-game stopwatch. That way you will not have to worry about potential dps loss due to dots ticking off.
